Brickell Condo Bathroom
This space is part of a total Interior Architecture and Design scope of work. What makes this one a WOW FACTOR space for us, is its great size given the square footage challenges, its innovative finishes, and its unusual ceiling shape.
The project location, right on Biscayne Bay, was the inspiration for this space which does not have direct access to the beautiful view.
The challenging plumbing conditions and mechanical ducts from the apartment above served as an excuse for the outline of our wavy ceiling evoking water movement.
Our fading white to ocean/green color pallet is accentuated by an innovative water-resistant surface covering that finishes the whole floor, walls and ceiling including the shower.
We efficiently used the area in several ways:
-By relocating the toilet to a newly created niche area providing added privacy
-By specifying a shallow elongated vanity cabinet that still responds to all storage needs
-By creating wall niches providing for added storage
-By designing a curb less shower and specifying a wall mounted toilet then giving a sense of openness
Drama is added by hidden linear LED lights giving a skylight effect to the space and the head sculpture doubling as a shower stool.
The owners wanted at least two full bathrooms, one Den, more living areas, and a bigger closet. Improving the floor plan layout was a must since they wanted to live the unit and use it as a showcase for architecture and interiors to existing and prospect clients.
Our ultimate challenge in this project was to show that luxury and ultimate comfort are possible to be achieved in units of this size when most of our modern cities, due to increased urban density, demand efficient and creative use of the available space.
This 1970’s project Brickell Condo renovation was a full demolition and redo of the interior architecture and interior design. Innovation in every aspect of design and construction was part of the scope of work.
The unit was in its original condition so all mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems are new. From there on, everything else was designed and custom-built to incorporate the latest technology and innovation available. To maximize the total square footage.
Brickell Condo Kitchen
Our goal was to transform the outdated, closed off layout into a lively, flowing space where the couple and their guests could enjoy each other company. We integrated the kitchen with the dining and living areas into one big space. To attain a sophisticated and uncluttered character the kitchen can, when not in use, be camouflaged into custom millwork that is perceived as a built-in Library .
An innovative, and spacious dining table also holds the cooktop (which includes seamless drawers ) and floats in the middle of the space in order to maintain the sense of openness throughout.
We updated all engineering systems and were able to get rid of most soffits that accentuated the low ceiling height; hence opening space to our custom hood doubling function as chandelier.
The new design allowed us to relocate the washer/dryer to a more private space, so there is a new and proper pantry area. A new bar area is part of the intervention as well as full size appliances (all home automated) including a coffee system and vacuum seal drawer for enhanced cooking experience.
Natural wood floors and materials and a neutral color palette complete the finishes part of the design.
