First Place, Commercial – Hospitality Design Common Space
Four Points by Sheraton – Miami Airport Location, has a classic and timeless design, creating a casual and relaxed, yet honest and authentic environment for guests. The theme is relevant for today; modern and trendy, practical yet stylish. The overall design creates a playful scene in a subtle manner, allowing guests to enjoy a relaxed and vibrant casual environment, both inside and out. The interior design embodies a tropical expression of the Vintage Industrial Aesthetic. The look is simple and modern, with spaces amplified through the use of natural light, flooding the interior areas and expanding throughout. We wanted the space to have a Miami flair while remaining true to its vintage, eclectic, modern and industrial feel. It was important to keep the design locally relevant for the enjoyment of all, which was achieved with the use of selected local materials and artifacts as well as in the color pallet, along with using metallic light fixtures, wood grains and streamlined accent furniture to make it seamless and cohesive. By mixing all these elements together, we provided an eclectic solution to the prototypical Starwood Four Point design, making it part of Miami’s culture, giving it Azúcar!.
