The beautiful view, the clients sophisticated taste, and their art collection were our inspiration for our Design Solution. We began with the improvement of the long entrance which lacked interest and was missing a focal point. A compartmentalized plan layout did not allow proper space flow and made the apartment feel constrained. A enclosed kitchen was blocking the beautiful view. Layout conditions were not better at the Master suite; the bathroom layout seemed chaotic, and the closet size was not proper of a Master Bedroom. We carefully studied our clients needs for cooking and storage and decided to relocate our new U-shaped layout with the Dining Room. By doing this we were able to get a magnificent Living space taking advantage of the beautiful ocean views.
We designed a pair of convex walls and circular skylight marking the cross section of the circulation system in the apartment.
The Master suite layout was completely redesigned to have ample space for relaxation and privacy. A custom designed wood screen includes a revolving tv panel serving either the Bedroom or the Bath tub area. The relocated closet now has a His and Hers section with a new make up vanity separating both areas.
Viilla Regina Kitchen
We strived to express our clients sophisticated taste thru this kitchen and Dining design. The couple was moving from California to their new apartment in Miami and were bringing along an acquired tradition for cooking and entertaining.
An existing compartmentalized plan layout did not allow proper space flow; then, making the apartment feel constrained. The misplaced and enclosed kitchen was blocking the beautiful apartment bay views and frustrated a desired host and guests cooking interaction. We carefully studied our clients’ needs for cooking and storage and decided to relocate our newly designed U-shaped kitchen layout to the existing sitting area. By doing this we were able to get a completely open Living space that fully integrated the living, dining, and cooking experience with the beautiful ocean views.
This new kitchen is now able to dress up and conceal all the mess created by a full-time cooking schedule. All concealed cabinets hide ample storage and full-size appliances. The rolling stainless steel tables disappear into the cabinets after working as moveable countertops while cooking and serving.
The newly integrated dining table is the center of the attention and allows a party of six to be properly served and entertained.
This demanded that the comfort and warmth of a family home be balanced with the industrial-commercial needs of a professional kitchen. We outfitted the space with upgraded appliances, specially seeking out pieces with a homestyle feel. The range hood, double wall oven, microwave drawer, and deep stainless steel double sink offer functionality and a professional edge for the client’s catering work. Meanwhile, a wine cooler and custom-designed lighting set the scene for entertaining guests. Custom built-in shelving displays the client’s pottery collection, offering a personal touch. Warm details such as generous natural light, natural wood flooring, and a bookshelf embedded in the kitchen island, offer elements of comfort and familiarity, with the white color palette creating an airy, light, and welcoming feel.
